The First Unskinny Bop

My girlfriend Kay Hyatt found this in the midst of a clear-out. It's the flyer for the first ever Unskinny Bop, which took place in 2002 as part of Ladyfest London.

Anyway, whatta night that was! There have been many others since. Over the years The Bop has grown to become one of London's most well-loved clubs and it fills the house to bursting every month.

I love these tiny, ephemeral pieces of fat and queer cultural history which are so easily overlooked. It reminds me how vital it is that we look after this stuff and tell the stories behind it. We need these accounts.
