The Fat Studies Reader is on its way

The Fat Studies Reader has taken about four years to find its way into the world, and now it's nearly here. I'm hugely excited, not just because the world needs books like this and our own beloved Fat Studies in the UK, and not just because it includes accounts by some great writers and activists, but also because I have a piece in it.

Esther Rothblum, one of the editors, emailed to say that the book "will be out in print some time between mid-October and early November." She added: "As you know, we have been receiving a huge amount of media attention even while the book is in press, including the New York Times in 2006, The New Yorker this July, and lots of local media (today, for example, the book is on p.1 of the San Diego Union Tribune). It will be reviewed in MS magazine next month."

It's available for pre-order through all the ususal outlets and, considering its size, is reasonably priced too.
